Hi Sootycat, I started writing out a reply but I think it would be a lot easier to follow if I add some illustrations, so I'll do that and post it later this evening.

Hi Sootycat, we'll assume that you have scanned a photo and saved it to your computer's hard-drive, so it is called something like filename.jpg
Now go to the Photobucket homepage and login. On the page which then opens, you will see a box where it says Add Picture and just by that it says Browse.
www.angelfire.com/electronic2/steve_c/addpic.gif
[/img] Click on Browse and a little window will open up, which enables you to select the file which you want to upload from your computer. Navigate your way to the file to be uploaded - it's probably in either My Documents or My Pictures or Desktop, or a folder which you have created yourself. When you locate the file, highlight it and then click on Open - the little window will now disappear. The file name will now have been entered into the dialog box, so next click on Submit. www.angelfire.com/electronic2/steve_c/submit.gif [/img] The file will now upload to the Photobucket server and after a while the page will refresh and you will see a message saying Pictures Added. www.angelfire.com/electronic2/steve_c/added.gif [/img] Now scroll to the bottom of that page and you will see a thumbnail of the picture, and directly underneath that will be three boxes. The first is the url (net address) of the picture - you can highlight that and then Copy and Paste into the forum when you want to insert the picture into one of your posts. If you have any questions on that, just let me know.

I'm not sure what you mean, Sootycat.
"I could only do it in the insert image bit" - well I thought that was what you were trying to do - to find out how to insert one of your own photos into the page?
Resizing the photo isn't too much of a problem, but I'll explain about that when I know what it is that you're trying to do eh.

Dear Steve Sorry, got a bit confused there. Thanks for all your help on getting that photobucket site sorted. All I have to do with those smilies I post, is literally to paste them anywhere in the message box.( dont have to use the insert image bit) I've twigged that I have to use that image insert bit now. The picture of the black cat I experimented with is actually half that size. I was just wondering how to shrink it. Thanks
