Sorry Sandra, it occurred to me today that maybe you deliberately left the address that way to see if the account would stay active without the image actually being used.
Hmmm, I really can't imagine what the problem is. I imagine that some ISP's are becoming twitchy about hosting mp3 music files these days, with so much legal action being taken against all and sundry, but you wouldn't even have had time to upload an mp3 yet because the account doesn't stay active long enough eh!
This all started when we realised there was a problem with the avatars hosted on Freewebs, so what I did was take a look around some other Bravenet forums and see where the reliable avatars were being hosted. I spotted soon enough that the Angelfire ones always showed up so that's how Angelfire came into the picture. There are a million other free hosting services out there so maybe you might want to open an account with somebody else and use it for avatar storage?
If you want I'll have another scout around the forums and see which other hosts are worth trying.

I'm not likely to get around to that before the weekend, Sandra, but I won't forget.
My car insurance is due for renewal so I'm going to see if I can get some quotes online. I'll probably end up with a headache after this one.

I would maybe suggest Tesco insurance or Direct Line.
Hope you not got to much of a headache and found some insurance.
Not to worry to much about the web site - I sort of given up as I tried facking the address then put in a proper address and neither of them worked and that was with 2 different account names.

Hi Sandra, I had a scout around the Proboards forums and I noticed that avatars hosted at Photobucket show up reliably. The homepage is: photobucket.com/It says right there on the homepage that you can use them for message boards and it says too that direct linking is allowed. It looks good to me, so you might want to give that one a try. The registration process looks very straightforward, although I haven't been beyond the first page. I might sign up later though, so if you have any questions then I should be able to answer them.

Well done, Sandra, that avatar looks good. An online storage site like that could be handy, so I'll register later.

Okay Sandra, they're deleted now - the L plates one too - that seems like it was ages ago. Time flies eh.
You surely had great weather the day you took the photo of the church, that's a great photo.

Yeah it was last July - we where in shorts all day We actually stayed at the camp site that is opposite Scripps garage so it was really nice as we had Goathland and the Aidensfield Arms to ourself once the coach loads of people had gone. I have that picture of the church and a picture of one of the trains coming into Goathland Station enlarged on my wall. I will use the train one as one of my pictures at some point so you will see that one as well. My friend who was with me had a right laugh as I pulled up outside Scripps garage and put the bonnet up and stood looking as if there was something wrong with the car - she took a picture and we had a few funny looks from people as they walked past If you had not guessed I love photography - I have 2 pictures of Lowry matchstick men and cats and dogs on my wall all the rest are pictures I have taken over the years. I like the picture of the church I think it has lots of depth and one thing that I had not noticed on the normal photo was that there are sheep on the moors in the background it was not till I printed it off on my computer that I saw the sheep there. Sorry I waffaling again Thanks again ;D

Thanks Sandra, that was interesting. I prefer to watch the trains from the platform in Grosmont - I don't usually spend much time in Goathland. I haven't been to the moors for ages (long story) but I'm hoping to get back down there soon. It's a four hour drive from here.
I love Sutton Bank and Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley, and especially Grosmont and Sleights. Not that there is much to see in Sleights but it has special meaning for me so I always spend a lot of time there. Then Whitby, then sometimes Scarborough if I have enough time.
Hmmm, now I'm pining for the moors - I wonder if I could manage a day down there next weekend? Hmmm.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
