Piles ( From sitting on cold steps. ) But Who? What? Where? When? Why? The game is for actual diseases/medical conditions that have happened on HB. Piles ;D ;D ;D is a possibility, but Polio is a certainty .... "Blood Sports", Season 5, Episode 15 (season finale - where Nick first meets Jo). Estranged husband has abducted his son from his ex-wife's custody and brings him to Aidensfield. They are living in a caravan, but the boy has headaches and stiffness. The father tries to enrol him in the local primary school and when it is found that the lad has polio, there are fears of an epidemic. Luckily the late doctor Kate has vigourously promoted immunization and it is only the father who also comes down with the disease. I know this one well because I bought a script from this episode off eBay.

S ... Scabies ... "Waifs and Strays", Season 13, Episode 7.
Three farm children are left orphaned, leaving Steve to help the oldest child fight a custody battle. But the fact that all three have become infected with scabies is used as an argument why the older sister will not prove a fit guardian of the younger two.

W ... whiplash ... but I can't find it on the TV Tome site. It's one of Tom Nicholson's episodes. He's directing traffic and inadvertently directs David driving the truck full of furniture (David has just house-cleared the wrong house) into the High Street where he collides with a small time chiseller who, in the hopes of a legal claim, immediately claims whiplash and refuses to move until a doctor is summoned.

Y ... Have we had any yeast infections on HB? Yellow fever?? Yaws??? Yellow Nail Syndrome??? (We could facetiously accuse Alf of that being such a heavy smoker, but I am hoping to find a real condition to use.) Yunis Varon Syndrome??? Oh well, I guess we'll have to go with Yellow Jaundice caused by viral hepatitis which is what Jenny came home from honeymoon with.
